CAFETERIA CHRONICLES
Live and Local
We continue in our efforts to incorporate as many local fresh fruits and vegetables into our menu plan as possible to explore all the wonderful bounty we have available in Southwest Michigan. We try hard to source local and Michigan grown products or companies that do business in our great state.
School Meal Purchases
Your elementary child should bring in his/her school meals money in an envelope marked on the outside with their first and last name, the payment amount and something to indicate that it is for breakfast and/or lunch (such as: kitchen or lunch). If you would like the amount split between siblings; please indicate the name of all students, the building and the amount to be deposited into each students account. Students have a designated location to drop off school meal payments in each classroom.
Middle and High School students may make deposits in the cafeteria. All monies are deposited into the account. We do not give change from checks.
PARENTS - WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE CHECKS RATHER THAN CASH FOR ALL SCHOOL MEAL PAYMENTS!
Remember: you can also make deposits into your child's account at: www.sendmoneytoschool.com .
(Watervliet Schools makes every effort to provide a high quality web site with information and links that facilitate the accomplishment of our educational mission. Because of the unpredictable nature of the Internet however, we cannot be responsible for the content of pages not directly linked to this website.)
Parents: we can help you place limits on what your child eats or drinks, including flavored milk and ala carte purchases, just let us know your preference.
School Meals Charge Policy
If a student has no money in their food service account, they will be allowed to charge a limted number of meals at the elementary schools only. Notices are sent home weekly with elementary students who owe money.
Middle and High School students are not allowed to charge meals.
We offer an alternate meal for students who owe money or do not have money in their account. This meal is provided as a service to our students and parents for a $ .50 charge and will be deducted from their account. If you need assistance with meals; please fill out an application at: http://www.lunchapp.com/ or get an application from the office.
Thank you and we look forward to serving your students healthy meals this year.
